Frequently Asked Questions
What is Bible Translation?Bible translation is making God’s Word available in a language people understand best, so they can hear Scripture clearly, engage it deeply, and share it naturally within their own community.
Why not just use the English?People understand and respond most deeply in their first language. Even those who know some English often grasp truth, emotion, and meaning far better when Scripture speaks in their heart language.
Why don't you teach them English?Learning English can be valuable, but everyone deserves access to God’s Word now, not after years of education. Bible translation strengthens local languages while making Scripture accessible to entire communities.
What do you teach your translators? We help train local translators in biblical understanding, translation principles, literacy, language analysis, and Scripture checking, equipping them to translate accurately and lead the work in their own language.
How do I get involved? You can get involved by praying, giving, encouraging our family, or helping share the vision. Some people also serve through advocacy, church partnerships, or exploring missions themselves.
How many languages are there? There are over 7,000 languages spoken worldwide, and many still need Scripture. Thousands have little or no access to the Bible in the language they understand best.

Papua New Guinea has one of the world’s greatest Bible translation needs, with hundreds of languages and many active projects. Our work is part of a much larger effort serving language communities across the country.
