Truck or House

This or That:

Truck vs. House

Help Us Reach the Village

This May, we’re launching a bold campaign to raise $80,000—$40,000 for a truck and $40,000 for a house—to support our life and ministry among the Birao people in the Solomon Islands. We’re calling it “This or That: Truck vs. House.”

Where you come in...

We need a rugged Toyota Land Cruiser to handle remote mountain roads and a permanent home (with a bathroom) to live, host, and work from in our village. It’s more than vehicles and walls—it’s about building relationships, reaching the unreached, and creating a place where God’s Word can be translated so the people can thrive in His goodness and grace.

Follow our daily posts this month for stories, photos, and updates. Choose your “this or that,” and join us in laying the groundwork—literally—for Bible translation and community ministry.

a rugged truck

when travel is always public transportation, unrealizable and often over packed and dangerous, getting to the village (or out) can be really stressful. We are excited to have our own truck to determine where we go and when.

but why choose?

we want freedom in travel (and ease to find groceries) but also to be in a home where the windows close and the bathroom isn't a walk in the rain. For a long time we thought we had to choose, but then God reminded us how good He is.

a home of peace

we currently rent a house - and that is causing several cultural and community problems (renting isn't normal). The community asked us to build our own home that would make us comfortable and allow more guests to come.

but why do you need those...?

We are digging in for the long haul. We are committed to the Birao people and Solomon Islands. A new Testament is at least a 10 year project, and we expect to be there working with the 70 language groups for 40 years, or till Christ comes back. That means we need to make changes to go from "getting by" to "thriving" and you can be a part of that

Would you help us Become Islanders?
