The training center has a big 5 week training coming up end of July that they are short for scholarships for the students without project funding to be able to attend. Most of these translators without project funding are also doing the translation work without a pay check - being supported by family and the community. 1 week of training costs about $200 USD (room and board and materials are included in it) - what a salaried person could make in a month. For translators without a sponsor - truly a passion project for them - the cost of attending these trainings without a scholarship is more than most can manage. Will you pray with us that the $5,000 needed to finish the fundraising will be provided by the end of June? Unlike our normal gifts - this money will not come through us or to us in any way. It will all go directly to our orginization, who has promised that every gift given until the end of June will go straight to the scholarship fund. Feel free to share this out with anyone you think would be interested in sponsoring a student. Our hope is that when we are on the ground we will begin to be able to match translation students with donors - think Compassion International but for adults doing Bible Translation.
